Ah the happy times I spent working with Tazmin on Greenway (although the staring did get a bit much).

By a bizarre coincidence, a certain multiple award-winning ex-Green Wing star is filming today outside the office where m'lovely girlfriend works. At least we think she is, because it's not easy to tell from the following email:

"Dear all,

The BBC will be filming part of their series Love Soup (staring actress Tazmin Greg from 'Greenway') outside the ********* today. They will not be entering the (office building), but will be filming in the ********* Pub and the passageway outside.

For those of you I have approached regarding assisting them, by leaving their lights on in their office when they go home tonight, much appreciated and thank you."

'Greenway' was that presented by John Craven?

No, you're thinking of 'Westway', that American political drama.

Don't forget that it's staring actress Tazmin from the famed Greenway. Staring in frozen horror, I should imagine, as the English language is thusly abused.

Wow. I didn't know they had actresses that specialized in single facial expressions. Maybe I could be "eye-rolling Vaelire".

(I'm slightly envious. My office building exterior, being slightly weird and institutional-looking, is often used for filming, but generally it's B-movie style SF made-for-TV stuff or, about three times in the last year, Veronica Mars. No "Tazmins", from "Greenway" or anything else. Sigh.)

alright! so you don't need to be particularly clever to be hired by the BBC. good news for me!

Ah, in all fairness, I should point out that this was an internal email - I don't think it came from the BBC themselves.

I hadn't noticed the 'staring' thing until it was pointed out either, but that's even better...

I know the BBC are supposed to be short of money these days, but asking people to leave their office lights on, so that they can film outside? Poor Tazmin, I expect she'll have to go home on the bus.

Greenway is my favourite show!

On a tangent I didn't realise that Love Soup had been recomissioned. I did enjoy it. Happy times. I love Tazmin. And Greenway, it gets me through the bad days.

I liked the theme tune best.

'Lalalalalalalalalallaalalaaaaaa.... GREENWAY!'

None of you is reading it properly.

Filmmaker (Peter) Greenway would love to buy some soup from Greg's (bakery) in Tazminia, but people keep staring.

Do keep up.

Leaving the lights on - good for the Beeb but bad for the Planet. Tsk Tsk.

Was Love Soup the first sitcom to discover the dramatic possibilitites of faecal impaction?

Argh. Thanks a lot for getting the old Batman theme stuck in my head, James. Though I guess it's an improvement over "Everytime you go away/ you take a piece of MEAT with you" which you had going on repeat play for a few weeks there.

You'd be a scary DJ.

Valerie: it has been pointed out in the past that Audrey Tautou specialises in having just the one facial expression. It doesn't seem to have done her too much harm, though.

NB I didn't see Tazmin on any of the four occasions that I entered and exited the building yesterday, otherwise I would certainly have congratulated her on her magnificent Olivier acceptance speech.

I thought the stars of Greenway were Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool. Shows what I know

A bit of randomness:

James, you probably already know this, but your superhero movie got a mention in the Hollywood Reporter yesterday. Here's the link.

"The superhero comedy "Hero Trip," a first feature script from James Henry ("Green Wing"), also flies to the fund [the UK film council] to fashion a script about an all-American superhero forced to drive his captured arch-nemesis across the U.S. to defuse a bomb set to destroy the planet. The unlikely coupling during the trip gives the superhero pause on whether humanity is worth saving. "Hero Trip" received £17,500 ($34,200)."

Excellent news that Love Soup will be back on our screens. I loved the first series.

Its Greg Tazmin's 40th birthday today, so if they're still filming outside there may be cake.

kaiki said...

yes - and maybe you could also present her with a birthday card - make sure you spell her name 'Tazmin Greg'.

Re: the Hero Trip film council thing -

1. Not all the money's for me (I have a brill script editor to support).
2. If I actually sell the new draft of the script to a film company, I have to give the money back.
3. I haven't had any of the money yet.
4. It was in Variety as well.
5. Who rocks: I do.

man you would think that the people at the bbc could spell and also know the namrs of actresses that work for them and tv shows that they have been in oh goh - it's like that dude at the BFI who thought she was in smack the pony....

but thankies for this james as you have now over hyped me up about the nex series of love soup as I was wondering if they had stated filming yet!

I should point out that the email didn't come from the BBC - it came from the people who manage the office building where I work.

oh right yeah that would make more sense - I think I must have been half asleep when I read this...
